Gases

Gases are one of the fundamental phases of matter and, along with liquids and plasma, classify as fluids as they take the shape of their container(no fixed shape). Gases are generally of lower density than other states of matter because the molecules are very spaced apart and have lots of kinetic energy, which you'll see directly translates to their temperature.

Most of the gases in this article are assumed to be ideal, or perfect. This definition is much further expanded in the Kinetic Molecular Theory. No gas is perfectly ideal but many gases are almost ideal so the laws and models discussed can still accurately describe their behaviors.
