Symbolism: The Virgin

The constellation of Virgo has had several interpretations throughout history. Greek interpretation associated Virgo with Demeter, the goddess of the harvest. Alternate views considered Virgo to be like Lady Justice and others also associated it with the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.

There are a few dozen exoplanets confirmed within the Virgo constellation. In fact, 70 Virginis, one of the first known exoplanet systems, is within the constellation of Virgo.
